There’s a quote, I’m not sure exactly who it’s attributed to but it goes something like this–when a woman changes her hair, her life is about to change. I thought this was pretty interesting but I couldn’t really connect with it because I’m not a woman and I don’t have much hair.
Being a web guy and digital marketer, I decided to put my own twist on it. When I change my website, pay attention because my life is about to change.
It doesn’t have quite the same ring but you get the point.
I just did a website refresh of this site with the hope to reflect how I plan to close out 2018 and start 2019. The website has a cleaner look and feel and is more of a well-designed landing page so that people can take action specifically seeing my projects and being able to contact and easily book a time to connect. I also recently updated CBNation so there’s a change we’re undergoing there as well.
Typically, I use the last month and quarter or so to do a dry run into the new year. I think of a theme and how I want to close out the new year. Last quarter, around November, I made a hard decision which was to resign from my networking group and proceed to “throw a bunch of stuff against the wall” and just see what would stick. For the last year, I’ve done just that and as the year is coming to a close and we are entering the last quarter I’m pretty clear on what my next steps will be and how they will help me continue to reach my goals.
The focus is to continue to refine my focus and put more time towards CBNation, podcasts and a few other internal projects I’ve been working on.
In July, I launched a new podcast–I AM CEO podcast and that has not just allowed me to connect with business owners but completely changed my outlook on CBNation and the impact that I am having and how my vision is coming to fruition.

A little peak into my why.. to inspire others to do what they were destined to…
Among other things, I’m hoping to clear the decks a little more and create more space to focus on the “one thing that will make everything else easier or unnecessary.”
Here’s some other things that I’ll be doing as I close out the year…
- Presenting at Leadership Center for Excellence LEAD Talks
- Merging the 2 podcasts into one
- Testing out a CBNation Council
- Testing out entrepreneurial clothing brand
- Running a 5k
- Getting in better shape
- Making more time for relationships
Looking forward to Quarter 4 and I truly know that 2019 will be a game changer.
Update: Upon a quick Google search, I see it’s Coco Chanel that use that quote.
