Obsession

It’s funny when I was younger I would set a goal and not see the distractions that came up.

The difference between now and then is that I see these distractions.

I overestimated the number of things I would be able to juggle and be successful. Now, I’m gradually getting things completely in alignment and saying “no” to those things that aren’t in alignment.

By 2020, I’m fully expecting everything I do to be in alignment.

I constantly reminded of this quote by Steve Jobs:

People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on.  But that’s not what it means at all.  It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully.  I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done.  Innovation is saying ‘no’ to 1,000 things.
